The side entrance to our house is the one we use, and it cuts through the small laundry nook. The laundry had a set of bifold doors.
(can you see the little passageway?)
The doors weren’t bad, necessarily, except that the washing machine and the doors didn’t play well together. In order to get the machine in – and usable – one set of doors had to come down.
Now that is not a great look.
Years ago, we had some drapes on our stairway nook that I tried to get rid of… but they made the trip to NC. They are indoor/outdoor material and have a thick lining on the back. We decided to take down the other set of doors and give it a try. Both of us were concerned about noise but found they did just about as good a job as the doors. And a lot easier to move out of the way when doing laundry!
